Summary

[edit]
Description An exterior image of the Barbara Fritchie House. Barabara Fritchie was made famous in the poem "Barbara Fritchie" by John Greenleaf Whittier. In it she says to a passing Confederate officer "Shoot if you must this old gray head, but spare your country's flag." The building is actually a replica of the original house and was constructed in 1927.
