Tampalon is one of the 32 Barangay of the city of kabankalan it was 23 kilometers away from the city proper and has a land area 6495.92 hectares which are sprawling on highlands and sloping valleys. Many of the barangay residents plant sugarcane, rice or corn for livelihood. In fact tampalon is considered one of the agricultural basket of the rising city of the south. Harvesting agricultural crops, sugarcane, rice and corn has become a common pre occupation among people of Barangay Tampalon. Barangay Tampalon is popularity known as the home of tapas-Ani festival in the city of kabankalan. The highlight presentation of tapas-Ani festival was held every last Sunday of march in celebration of the barangay tampalon Annual fiesta. Tapas-Ani festival is a celebration to honor commemorate local history and culture, to promote the community’s products, or to celebrate a bountiful harvest. People of the tampalon are also known to be creative that they are responsible of weaving their own “Banig”
