Français : Clovis couronné mais dévêtu se tient dans la cuve baptismale au centre de la représentation. À droite, saint Rémi en vêtements épiscopaux s’apprête à officier, tandis que la colombe céleste apporte le chrême de la Sainte Ampoule. Clotilde, debout à gauche, fait un geste de prière. Elle est vêtue d’une robe héraldique aux armes de France et de Bourgogne tout comme la reine agenouillée à ses pieds. Il s'agit du portrait de Jeanne de Bourgogne, première épouse de Philippe Vl décédée en 1348 et commanditaire probable du manuscrit. La reine fait ici une allusion au rôle bénéfique des princesses de Bourgogne dans l’histoire de France, en même temps qu’elle affirme sa dévotion envers la première reine chrétienne de la France.
