| Description |
English: Banks End Road, Elland In 1850 this road had cottages, probably for quarry workers, on the right-hand (south) side. They lined the Elland boundary, and might have been built on common land. The Blue Bell Delf (sandstone) was in Fixby to the south, and there were more quarries in Elland and Rastrick to the north. The old cottages have been cleared and there is now an alternation between late 19C terrace houses and 20C council houses. |
