The book cover of Banister Fletcher's A History of Architecture on the Comparative Method (B. T. Batsford pub.). This edition of Banister Fletcher is dated 1938. The cover design was created by Banister Fletcher senior (died 1899) in 1897, although the name of Banister Fletcher senior was removed after 1921. The copy pictured here was presented to architect Ernest Trever Spashett (1923–1994) in 1939, and it accompanied him throughout his career. |
