English: Bamuni Hill is located at Tezpur near the Bhairavi Mandir ( not-to-be confused with Mahabhairab Mandir ). The hill is a ruins of ancient temple believed to exist between 9th and 10th century. The temple ruins suggests it to be devoted to the Hindu Lord Vishnu. Around the periphery of the hill one can find evidence of the four shrines encirling the ancient temple ruins. According to the archaeological society of India, ruins of another temple can be also found towards the north-eastern side. The mighty river Brahmaputra flows behind the hill. The above picture is the entrancce to this mystic place.
