Summary

[edit]
Description
English: The Berwick Bastion, also known as the Royal Bastion or Charles V Bulwark, is a bastion that protected the gate of La Serreta of the city of Cartagena, and whose existence is tested for the first time by a plan of 1721. Decades later it was about to be demolished in the course of the construction of the Charles III Wall, and in the 19th century a gatehouse was attached. The Spanish Civil War witnessed the last use of the structure, when it served as an air raid shelter.
