Today, says the man who told me this story, andwho declares it is absolutely true, this young man ismaking his way to top rank in the navy. These were his reasons for thg defeat of the Armada:Seamanship. Marksmanship. Comradeship. Courage He was born in 1862 and entered the service of theRailroad in 1887. He has been a good friend of mineduring my eight years with the Railroad, anda frequentand valuable contributor to the Magazine.
