Buddy,as he is affectionately called by his bilHng(and cooing) partner. The facts as givenby an observer are as follows. While ridingwith John Maloney in his tin can on arecent Sunday evening, as they were passingthrough Buena Vista on the inter-urbancar line, our hero made the startling dis-covery that a large frame dwelling was onfire. The tin can was immediately broughtto a stop; our hero leaped out and runningto the house proceeded to hammer on thedoor, but received no response. The nearesthouse was half a mile down the road andGeorge, bidding John watch the fire untilhe returned, started on a run for help.Neither one thought of using the tin can,and it was just as well, as ten miles an houris the limit of speed for Johns rattle-box, while George can make a mile in i .50 flat, hehaving once walked to Cincinnati and return.
