Sanitation is an in-creasingly important branch of the workof our Safety First and Welfare bureaus. These rules will govern the employes ofthe entire System, including the Baltimoreand Ohio Southwestern, the Cincinnati,Hamilton and Dayton and the New YorkTerminal Lines. The booklet, which is bound in anattractive and serviceable cover, will re-pay all of our men for its sUidy.

DD I□ D 1 PETER FRANK FINNEGAN Appointed General Western Freight Agent on September 1, 1916By Roy G. Clark PETER FRANK FINNEGAN was bom In Chicago on Novem-ber 4, 1877, and received his education in the elementary andhigh schools of that city. He entered the service of the Baltimoreand Ohio on May 5, 1895, as yard clerk at South Chicago. He heldvarious positions at that point until October 1, 1900, when he wasappointed claim clerk in the office of the General Western FreightAgent. On September 1, 1905, he was made chief clerk of that office. On May 1, 1911, he was appointed General Freight and PassengerAgent of the Baltimore and Ohio Chicago Terminal Railroad Com-pany, being placed in charge of the traffic and industrial departments.He held this position until his recent appointment as General WesternFreight Agent of the Baltimore and Ohio. Mr. Finnegan gained his experience and acquired his knowledgeof Chicago conditions through continued contact with details, manyof them so small
