UNITED STATES RAILROAD ADMINISTRATION OFFICE OF THE DIRECTOR GENERAL Washington, November 5, 1918. To Officers and Employes of Railroads under Federal Control: Final reports indicate that $184,868,300.00 was subscribed to theFourth Liberty Loan by officials and employes of railroads underFederal control. I am greatly encouraged by this renewed evidenceof the practical patriotism and loyalty of the men and women inthe railroad service of the United States. On many of the railroadsone hundred per cent, of the employes have subscribed and on manyothers the subscriptions are almost one hundred per cent. To the employes of such railroads I want to express my especialgratification and thanks, and to all railroad employes who haveloaned their money to their Government in the Fourth Liberty Loancampaign, I want to extend my hearty congratulations and deepappreciation. They have strengthened the tie already binding them to theirGovernment, and they have sent to our courageous soldiers andsailo
