Johnson Chief Clerk to Mechanical Engineer, Mount Clare ^m VISITORS who happen to havebeen at Mount Clare on Fridaysduring the noon hour for the pastseveral months, have paused inastonishment to hear, instead of the usualdin of a large railroad shop, the strains ofone of Sousas marches, the latest fox trot,selections from one of the famous grandoperas, or some other equally pleasingnumber, and upon investigating thesource of the inspiring music, have dis-covered a company of twenty-five orthirty men, embracing almost all classesof workers, machinists, helpers, boilermakers, clerks, pattern makers, com-prising the newly organized Mount ClareBand. This organization has sprung intoexistence in an incredibh short time,for its members were first assembled onJune 3, 1916, with H. H. Freeman asdirector.
