ergeantAlbert Van den Dreissche, whowas formerly employed on the Baltimoreand Ohio System as a helper and extratimber treating engineer at Green Spring,W. Va., and who is now a member of the251st Aero Squadron, Aviation Corps,Fort Sill, Okla. Although he is marriedand has two children, he went into what ispossibly the most hazardous branch ofUncle Sams fighting forces, and is noweagerly awaiting the call to go overseas tohelp bring down some of the boches whoare bombing allied hospitals. Sergeant Van den Dreissche enlisted inthe aviation corps at Cumberland, Md.,November 26, 1917.He was born inCaprycke, Belgium,April 15, 1877, andis a graduate of amilitary school of hisnative land. Duringthe period of hisstudies at theacademy he was pro-moted to the rankof brigadier. The Van denDreissche family hasproved its loyalty toits adopted country—more patriotic, per-haps, than some whohave been bornunder the Stars andStripes. Mrs. MaryVan den Dreissche,wife of Sergeant Vanden Dreissche, has.

SERGEANT VAN DEN DREISSCHEAND FAMILY through the Company, purchased severalLiberty bonds of the third issue, payingcash for each. Besides, their son Gaston,who is in the Companys service at theGreen Spring, W. Va., plant, is not onlysatisfied with paying the rent of thecottage in which the family lives andwhich is owned by the Baltimore andOhio, but is also continuing his fathersrelief insurance with the Company and isbuying a Liberty bond. He is an activemember of the Boy Scouts, and is anenthusiastic American. This is a fine show of patriotism on thepart of the family. The bread-winnerhas gone into the service to face death:the wife has invested the familys savingsin Liberty bonds, while the young son isdoing a mans share.Certainly, Americamight well welcometo these shores suchloyal foreign - bornsas are these Belgianpeople. They haveproved themselvesworthy citizens andUncle Sam is proudof them. Every onein the Companysservice should feelinspired by theiracts. May they see theday in
