| Description |
English: Ballynahatty Fair Green. Located at the intersection of the Ballynahatty Road and Laurelbank Road, but the fair, which was held several times in a year, is now a distant memory. This was also a starting point for the Ballynahatty Hunt for country gentlemen. Army personnel would have been taking part too. Nearby is an old famine graveyard which is hard to locate without local knowledge, but I am informed that on certain days when lighting conditions are just right and the sun is shining at a particular angle, the outline of the graves can be discerned from a distance. |
