English: Balloch Pier railway station (site), West Dunbartonshire Opened in 1850 by the Caledonian and Dunbartonshire Junction Railway, later part of the North British Railway and later still jointly owned with the Caledonian Railway, this was the terminus of the line from Bowling (on the Clyde). The line was electrified in 1960 but closed in 1986. View north towards the buffers and the pier, from a similar position to NS3882 : Balloch Pier Station with part of the platform surviving. The former bay platform would have been to the left. |
