| Description |
English: Ballard Cliff. Looking north-east from the Coast Path as it descends from Ballard Down. The cliff forms the northern edge of Swanage Bay, and is nearly 100 metres of Middle and Lower chalk. The chalk is very hard and resistant to erosion by the sea, but it forms a very different chalk coastline to the stacks of Old Nick's Ground around Ballard Point due to the inclination of the strata. |
