Summary

[edit]
Description
English: This is one of the few false-front buildings remaining in Ballard, and was the site of one of the first buildings on this block. Two-stories tall when built in 1890, it was home to the Ballard Pharmacy, originally owned by Dr. Walter Johnston and later by H.S. Calhoun in the 1900s. The pharmacy remained at this location into the 1920s. The King County Assessor gives the current building's construction date as 1945, meaning it was likely built entirely from scratch using salvaged materials from the original building. It is shown at 1-story on 1950 Sanborn maps housing a cabinet shop, interconnected to a brick building to the north that no longer stands.
