Summary
[edit]DescriptionBala Junction Station (geograph 6506704).jpg |
English: Bala Junction Station Bala Junction was one of those stations that operated purely as a passenger interchange; there was no proper road access. It was served by trains running between Ruabon and Barmouth and the branch line to Bala and (until 1960) Blaenau Ffestiniog. All this ended at the beginning of 1965 depriving passengers of the chance to ride on one of the most scenic routes in Wales and leaving the mouldering remains of the stations. Bala Junction by the mid-'seventies was a sad sight although the sheep wandering along the old platform were probably not worried. |
