Description
John S. Bailey was born in Stokes, North Carolina to Edward Bailey and Carrie Mathews Bailey and later moved to Indiana where he married his wife and had a child. Later he moved to Columbus where he was the minister of the Hawthorne Methodist Episcopal Church, 215 Hawthorne Street, from 1918-1920. He was married to Cora A. (Dempsey) Bailey of Henry, Indiana in 1887. They had a son named Leland V. Bailey. Leland married Minnie E. (Jamison) Bailey in Columbus, Ohio in June of 1920. Cora later remarried a William Goens and her last name became Cora A. Goens. She passed away in Indiana in 1960.
