The Bahai House of Worship, better known as the Lotus Temple, in New Delhi, India. I do notice the tree obstructing the view, but I still like how the shot came out considering that I had barely a few seconds. I rested the camera on a small connection outlet of the local telephone company. The following info is courtesy of jlavezzo: Mashriqu'l-Adhkar is a formal title. It literally means "Dawning place of the mention of God". http://www.bahai.org/faq/facts/bahaullah: Bahá'u'lláh describes the Mashriqu'l-Adhkar as consisting of a temple, a hospital, schools, a place for travelers to stay, and a home for the elderly. The term designates the collection of buildings and services, but also correctly describes the temple itself, even before the other buildings are in place. |
