Notes Women's Auxiliary Army Corps (WAAC) badge, WW2 Belonged to 8211229 Sgt Nada Florence Priest, New Zealand Women's Auxiliary Army Corps (WAAC). Nada Florence Priest, born Waihou 1-6-1922, brought up on a farm, attended Te Aroha College, worked briefly with timber merchant in Te Aroha. She joined the NZ WAAC on 6-6-1942, when it was still operating as the WWSA. She underwent her initial training at Papakura and Wellington. She was subsequerntly based at Devonport with the 67th Amnti-Air4craft Search Battery (rank, Bombadier) and at Mt Victoria (rank, Gunner). Post-war she joined the Army Clerical Division at Hopuhopu Camp, Ngaruawahia.Here she met Laurence Verdun Stubbing in Ngaruawahia, and the couple married in 1946. Her final rank was Sergeant.
