[edit]DescriptionBadaga script- Vowels and Consonants (jeeva Swara and Dheha Swara).jpg |
English: Alternative script for Badaga language. Badaga is a one of the Dravidian language spoken by the people in Niligris of Tamil Nadu. There are many debate whether it is a dialect of Kannada or not. But that is not a case here. With a years ago, badaga is a language which has no script of its own or which has a own script but not used now. But to write Badaga language tamil letters are used. The major difficulty in using Tamil script for Badaga is pronunciation difference. For example Betta(Mountain). In Tamil we use single letter to pronounce "Pa" as well as "Ba". Similarly "Ka","Ga", "Ta","Da" and "Tha","Dha" so the meaning and the sweetness of the language gets altered whne we use Tamil script for Badaga words. Since Badaga is similar to Kannada, we can use Kannada script for badaga words. Also Kannada language has difference in pronunciation is letter such as "Ka","Ga" "Ta","Da" and "Tha","Dha" etc. But the difficulty faced here is Badagas live in Tamil Nadu and they dont know Kannada script. For a survival of language it should has its own script. So its my suggestion................ the script developed here will be easy to write Badaga language.
In this image, we can able to see the new badaga script on the top line along with the Tamil script in the next line and Kannada script at the bottom. Here you can able to see new vowels which are not in both Tamil and Kannada script after "AU" those are the words probably used or may not be used in Badaga but added here with the sound of "IU", "UU", "EU" and "OU". தமிழ்: படுகு எழுத்துக்கள் - ஜீவ ஸ்வரா - உயிரெழுத்து மற்றும் தேஹா ஸ்வரா - மெயெழுத்து. |
