[edit]DescriptionBack Home, April 1865, by Tom Lea, Pleasant Hill Post Office Mural.jpg | Back Home, April 1865, by Tom Lea, Pleasant Hill, Mo., Post Office Mural; comissioned under Treasury Section of Fine Arts (TSFA); Tom Lea captured the devastation brought down upon the Missouri countryside by the Civil War and its citizens who faced the grim task of rebuilding their lives after the War. Note: The Treasury Section of Painting and Sculpture (later known as the Section of Fine Arts), was established in 1934 and administered by the Procurement Division of the United States Department of the Treasury. It continued until 1943, and like the Works Progress Administration (WPA), the Section was part of a government project aimed at providing work for Americans throughout the Great Depression during the 1930s.
