Title
BUCKLE
Description
English:

An incomplete cast copper alloy medieval spur buckle dating to c13th - 14th centuries AD. The buckle has an oval frame with a bar moulding on the outer edge and would have had a probably elongated integral plate. There is a small collared knop at either end of the strap bar and a circular hole for the pin, now missing, There is a transverse ridge beyond the pin hole, incorporated into which was another circular hole, at which point the buckle broke away, at an early date, from the rest of the plate.

It is 18.55mm in length, 13.46mm in width and weighs 1.06g.
