Title
BUCKLE
Description
English:

An incomplete copper alloy double looped buckle, both loops identical, dating to the 15th to mid 17th century, c.1400 to c. 1650. The pin is missing. The loops are D-shaped in cross-section; the front of the buckle is convex, and the back of the buckle is flat and unfinished-looking. Dark green patina with some traces of iron corrosion on the central bar on both front and reverse. It is 21.94mm in height, 25.49mm in width, and weighs 3.1g.

See Whitehead 2003, 53, No. 291-300 for comparable examples. This type of plain 'spectacle' buckle is very common.
