Title
BUCKLE
Description
English:

Copper-alloy single loop buckle frame with copper-alloy buckle plate. The frame is oval with an offset bar and a slightly pointed outside edge. The plate is made from a rectangular piece of copper alloy, folded in half and with pin slot and frame recesses cut. It was originally fastened to the strap with a single large separate copper-alloy rivet at the attachment end, but this has now sprung apart from the upper half of the plate. Length 28 mm, width 15 mm, thickness 3 mm, weight 2.16g A simple but well-made buckle, probably dating to the 12th to 14th century.
