Title |
BUCKLE |
||
Description |
English: Copper-alloy annular buckle frame complete with copper-alloy pin. The frame is circular and roughly hexagonal in cross-section, with no decoration. The pin tapers gently and evenly from its open loop to its pointed tip. Both frame and pin appear worn. Diameter of frame 14mm, length of pin 17mm, thickness 5mm, weight 2.4g. Although an example of similar dimensions was found in a context of c. 1270-1350 in London (Egan and Pritchard 1991, no. 29, not illustrated) the possible date-range is likely to be wider, perhaps 13th to 15th century. |
