Description
English: A copper-alloy fragment of a Medieval to Post-Medieval buckle, dating to the period c.1450-1600. The fragment is broadly rectangular in plan, with an arm projecting at a right angle from each terminal. These projections both terminate in worn breaks. Incised decoration comprises a circumferential border, and a border along the inner edge of the main body of the fragment. There are three groups of three crude incised diagonal grooves between these borders.The reverse is undecorated and there is a green patina on the surface.

The buckle measures 41.10mm in length, 6.7mm in width, 2mm in thickness and weighs 4.09g.
