English:

Cast copper-alloy rectangular shoe or knee buckle with rounded external corners with a drilled frame for a separate axle bar. Frame has a slight swelling on the inside edge. Pin form I (stud chape). The buckle is complete with a deep green patina all over. Buckle pin no longer moves. See Whitehead 2016: 103, No.663. Dates to c.AD1690 - 1720.

On the widest part of the buckle pin is stamped the name 'S/COOK'
