Title
BUCKLE
Description
English:

Half of a copper alloy double loop buckle c.1540-1600. Four filled groves on each loop, giving the outer edge of the frame a cusped appearance (Whitehead 2016: 59-60, No.352). This example is broken where the loop meets the strap bar. A tiny fragment of the second loop remains indicating there was a second loop. Dark green patina all over. Some wear in the centre of the stap bar where the pin or strap has rubbed.
