Description
English: Member of 1st Battalion The Mercian Regiment lays down fire during the combined Tactical Effects Simulation (TES) and live firing exercise at the range complex at Sennelager Training Area, Germany.

The 1st Battalion The Mercian Regiment is preparing for operations with a series of exercises in Sennelager, Germany.

The Mercian Regiment is an infantry regiment, recruited from the five counties that formed the ancient kingdom of Mercia, was formed on 1st September 2007 at Tamworth Castle by the amalgamation of three existing regiments.

The Mercians have deployed on numerous operational tours since its formation, including Afghanistan, Iraq, Cyprus and South Sudan.
