English: BP filling station, New Kent Road, London SE1, at the junction with Theobald Street, seen from the southwest. The filling station is on the site of the former St Andrew's parish church, Newington, which was built in 1876 and demolished in 1956. The church hall was retained as a warehouse until 1980, wehn it was damaged by fire and demolished. (http://southwark.anglican.org/downloads/lostchurches/NEW10.pdf) |
