Description
English: EARLIEST PART OF THE HOUSE DATES TO CIRCA 1750. LATER PORTIONS DATE TO THE EARLY 19TH CENTURY AND A REAR ELL IS MORE MODERN DATING CIRCA 1900; SOLOMON BOYLE WHO BUILT THE HOUSE WAS AN EMIGRANT FROM IRELAND. MARY HUDSPETH-BENSON WAS FROM JERSEY CITY WHERE SHE WAS PROMINENT IN HUMANITARIAN WORK.

THE ADDRESS AS GIVEN IN THE NATIONAL REGISTRY LISTING IS NOT CORRECT. THERE IS NO 100 BASKING RIDGE ROAD. AT ONE TIME THIS MIGHT HAVE BEEN CORRECT BECAUSE THE HOUSE STOOD IN A LARGE ESTATE WHICH HAS BEEN DIVIDED AND LARGE UPSCALE HOMES HAVE BEEN BUILT ALL AROUND THE HOUSE WHICH NO LONGER HAS ACCESS TO BASKING RIDGE ROAD. TO REACH IT NOW ONE MUST GO ON WEST RAYBURN TO TURN ONTO SHAWNEE PATH. OFF OF THIS ROAD THERE IS A DEAD END ROAD CALLED AVA MARIA COURT AND THE HOUSE IUS LOCATED AT THE END OF THIS COURT
