Title
BOTTLE
Description
English:

Two Post-Medieval glass bottle seals dating broadly to the 17th or 18th century, found alongside a large amount of unrecorded body sherds. Both sherds are of an extremely similar translucent green glass. Both seals are intact:

- The first is circular, 29.8mm in diameter and between 6.7mm thick in the centre and 9.9mm at one point around the edge. In the center the initials "T x F" are stamped in relief on its surface. From the left a sub-rectangular fragment of the body of the bottle survives, 31.9mm long, 52.5mm wide (includind the seal) and 4.2mm thick, it weighs: 16.87g.

- The second seal is sub-circular, with an irregular globular form into which the seal has been pressed, but which has been subsequently obscured when the globular rim was smeared while the glass was still viscous. It appears to be inscribed C E or F. The seal is 37.4mm wide and 35.2mm long and up to 10.6mm thick. The seal is positioned centrally on a triangular body sherd, taking up its entire length. The sherd is 66.1mm wide and is 4.3mm thick. It weighs: 26.43g
