| Description |
English: Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF) 5818 parked out back of the BNSF Topeka Shops. This train is unique because BNSF is testing an alternative fuel to power their trains. The fuel they are test is liquid natural gas. There are 3 locomotives in the testing stage. Each locomotive has to accompanied by a tanker to carry enough liquid natural gas to power the train. At the time of this photo both tank cars were full of fuel and the engine was idling. This photo was taken using the High-Dynamic-Range (HDR) method. Topeka, Kansas 12-19-2015.
