| Description |
This being Munich, even the police cars come from Bayerische Motorenwerke, shortened to BMW and translated in English as Bavarian Motor Works. BMW is based in Munich, and between its name and its blue-and-white Bavarian color schemed propeller symbol, it is all about the Bavarian pride. In fact, the letters BMW can also officially stand for "Blau mit Weiß" - Blue and White. As seen here, Munich police likes to use the wagon, or "Touring," version of the 3 (chassis code E91). I used to be an enthusiastic owner of a 3-series (E46) myself, but eventually got fed up with BMW's funding of religious extremism and far-right politicians in Germany, US, and elsewhere. Happy to have "downgraded" to a Hyundai, and to have come to Germany to pick up a Mercedes-Benz instead. |
