BLMERS #GIVINGBACK: Kemmerer Celebrates Christmas with Kids from YAHA

The BLM Kemmerer Field Office in Wyoming donated Christmas presents to the youth currently at the Youth Alternative Home Association (YAHA), in Evanston, Wyoming. YAHA is a nonprofit group home for troubled or neglected youth. Many of the children spend Christmas away from their families and can be forgotten.

“You guys doing what you have done again for these young people allows them to see the good in our society,” said Karen Fry, YAHA Executive Director. “These actions by KFO over the past few years helps support my message to kids about love and generosity during the holiday season.”

This year, at least four gifts were given to each 16-year-old Josh, 16-year-old Skylar, 17-year-old Tiffany, and 18-year-old Ashely. Josh loves art, skiing, hiking and received art and camping supplies, a jacket, jeans, and a shirt. Skylar has a western style and likes working with his hands, and received a wood craft kit, plaid western shirts, and a gift card to Murdoch’s. Tiffany loves reading, outdoors, art, music and exercise and was given a stuffed sloth, a watch, historical books, and coloring book and supplies. Ashely is a working college student who just moved into an apartment. She received earrings, a fuzzy blanket and socks. The children loved their gifts and KFO is pleased to have let the kids enjoy a Christmas they may not have had otherwise.
