Description
English: Foreign Port (June 28)--The Coast Guard Cutter Gallatin (WHEC 721) moors with other foreign naval vessels during (BALTOPS '96) Baltic Operations 1996. The USCGC Gallatin deployed to the U.S. European Command from 24 May to 11 September 1996. GALLATIN participated in BALTOPS 96 with our NATO allies in the Baltic Sea and visited the Mediterranean and Black Sea in support of the CINCs Engagement and Enlargement Strategy with the Emerging Democracies of Eastern Europe.
