Description
English: This is a reduction of Ortelius's 1567 wall map of Asia. First published in Ortelius's Theatrum Orbis Terrarum, this map charts the island of Taiwan (I. Fermosa). Of note is the fictitious island of Java Minor just off the east coast of Java, a remnant of the influential Gastaldi map of 1561 and Mercator's world map of 1569
