Summary

[edit]
Description

This example is kept at the British Imperial War Museum at Duxford.

It was a modified B-29 known as Bockscar (or Bock's car) that dropped the Plutonium Atomic Bomb on Nagasaki on 9 August 1945, killing more than 100,000 people either instantly or due to injuries and radiation poisoning.

The war came to an end a few days after this second atomic bomb was used upon the Japanese people.

Please take a few moments to remember all those who died during World War two.
