Description

A classic 8thAF formation, recreated in great style. The B-17 is, of course, Duxford based B-17G 'Sally B'. On the UK show circuit since 1975, 'Sally' is currently painted to represent 'Memphis Belle', following her role in the 1989 movie of that name. This is also appropriate as the original 'Belle' was based at nearby Bassingbourn. Registered G-BEDF, her actual military serial is '44-85784' and her c/n is 8693(-VE) The P-47 is the TFC example 'SNAFU' and was flown by TFC chief pilot Pete Kynsey. The aircraft wears 78FG markings as 'WZ-D' representing a Duxford based machine, but carries her genuine serial '225068'. She is actually a P-47G full serial '42-25068' and is registered 'G-CDVX'. 2013 Flying Legends, Duxford.
