Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Azurite, Malachite
Locality: Liufengshan Mine, Anqing-Guichi Mining District, Guichi District, Chizhou Prefecture, Anhui Province, China (Locality at mindat.org)
Size: 8 x 5.5 x 2.3 cm.
About a year ago, I went through probably 100 flats of Anhui province azurite from the guys who have been bringing in the bulk of it, and acquired only three specimens. This was the closest I could find to the rare “electric blue” that a very few of the specimens from there have shown. Only this one came close, of the hundreds of specimens. In person, the color is darker and more intense (and prettier, I think) – and while it is not QUITE what I would call “electric”, it is VERY close.
