Title
Awl
Description
English: Flint awl, lozenge-shaped in plan, convex-concave in profile, bi-convex in section. It tapers to a point at the distal end. On the dorsal face, there is nibbled retouch at the distal tip and along the upper right margin. The left margin is sharp. There is one small section of retouch on the left margin, opposite the point where the right margin widens. It is truncated at the proximal end. The flint is grey with pale mottling. There is no cortex, so it is classed as tertiary.

Butler (2005) shows a similar example on page 169, Figure 71, Number 3.
