Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Avon Lea Apartments, 856 Amherst Street at Lincoln Parkway, Buffalo, New York, February 2023. Constructed for $85,000 on behalf of the Fraser Bros. real estate development company, this three-story apartment building dates to 1928 and is a textbook example of the Tudor Revival style of architecture that was then in vogue among the upper classes in America. Trademark stylistic tropes that are displayed in the design of the Avon Lea include exterior walls clad in a mix of dark brown brick and cream-colored stucco (the former often taking decorative patterns, such as on the spandrel panels between the large windows framing each side of the façade; the latter studded with the requisite half-timbering), small multi-light windows (including some classic diamond-paned casements atop the two-story projecting bays in which the arched entrances are contained), and a steeply-pitched roof punctuated by a multiplicity of differently sized gables. Comprising 18 units offered at a variety of price points, the Avon Lea has been owned And operated since 2016 by Danahy Real Estate.
