English: Army Support Activity, Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst recognized the return of Soldiers from Operation Iraqi Freedom missions by presenting them with Welcome Home plaques and a Yellow Banner at the Timmermann Center Jan. 10. Accepting the honors were unit representatives' 1st Sgt. Thomas House and Capt. Jason Henderson, Alpha Company, 1/106th Assault Helicopter Battalion (left) and Maj. Leon LaPoint, 1/150th AHB, middle. Capt. Calvin Graham and Mark Ala, 810th Military Police Company, right, received the unit's Yellow Banner. Alpha Company, 1/106th AHB is part of the Illinois Army National Guard from Decatur, Ill.; the 1/150th AHB is part of the New Jersey Army National Guard from Lakehurst, N.J.; and the 810th MP Company is from Tampa, Fla. Alpha Company, 1/106th and 1/150th AHBs performed combat service area support missions while the 810th MP Company trained the Iraqi police force. The 810th MP Company mobilized from ASA JB MDL and received its Yellow Banner back upon its return. The Yellow Banner ceremony is a tradition at ASA JB MDL. Units mobilizing through ASA JB MDL are presented with a Yellow Banner to be displayed at Infantry Park as a symbol of the community's commitment to service members and given back to the respective unit upon its return from combat. Alpha Company, 1/106th and the 1/150th AHBs each mobilized from Fort Sill, Okla. |
