Fra norsk side såes ministrene Jonas Lie, Riisnæs (Sverre Riisnæs) og Fuglesang (Rolf Jørgen Fuglesang) og fylkesfører Astrup (Christian Astrup). SS-bataljonen tok oppstilling med front mot Slottet med den svarte stormfane med de hvite SS-runer på høyre fløy. Samtlige var iført svart uniform med hvite distinksjoner, stålhjelm og lange, svarte støvler. Hvert av bataljonens tre kompanier var utstyrt med maskingeværer og maskinpistoler av siste modell.
