Description |
English: Cast copper-alloy anthropomorphic button brooch. Avent & Evison 1983, Class Bi. Rounded helmet, almost horizontal eyebrows, slightly angular eyes. Distinctive curving eyerings with full and rounded cheeks below. The nose flares slightly at the nostrils. Well-defined open mouth. Pierced lug on reverse for missing pin; iron corrosion on lug from pin. Short catchplate intact. Much gilding survives, except on raised areas. Edges chipped. (This is a very ‘thin’ example)
