Summary
[edit]DescriptionAuxiliary Unit operational base, Coleshill (3 of 4) - geograph.org.uk - 536489.jpg |
English: Auxiliary Unit operational base, Coleshill (3 of 4). By 1944 it became clear that the Germans were not going to invade and the Auxiliary Units were disbanded. Many of the operatives, because of their skills and training, made their way to the Special Operations Executive. This image shows the interior of one such OB where up to seven operatives would live for up to a fortnight along with provisions and weaponry. It has been restored in a limited way to make it reasonably safe and accessible but it is in otherwise original condition. This is the third of four related images and shows the interior of the operational base. Next image... 542063 |
