| Description | Severe drought conditions continue to impact water levels at Folsom Lake, as seen here Feb. 1, 2014. Meanwhile, construction continues along the full length of a new auxiliary spillway at Folsom Dam, including the approach channel, control structure, and chute. The control structure will operate in conjunction with existing spillway gates on Folsom’s Main Dam to manage flood flows from Folsom Reservoir and provide the Greater Sacramento Metropolitan area with up to a 1 in 200 year level of protection.
