Postage, 2c. per bulb extra. tEfyc 3arbaboes "Spice £ily" .. A VARIETY OF AMARYLLIS JOHNSONII. Shown in colors on the front cover of this Catalogue. aONGENIAL conditions—climate and soil—produce a strong-growing variety of Amaryllis, popularly known in the West India Isles as "The Spice Lily." Probably the most magnificent and gorgeous flower- ing bulbous plants known. Their immense flowers, rich-- ness of coloring and regal habit are simply incomparable. The bulbs are very large, 9 to 15 inches in circumference, and produce with great certainty extra-strong spikes of bloom, from 18 inches to 3 feet high, bearing enormous- trumpet-shaped flowers, averaging 6 to 10 inches across, of great substance, of rich and glowing scarlet, intensified! by contrasting with the wide white stripe through each petal. For pot culture in the window, conservatory or greenhouse they are well adapted, and when in bloom in the winter and spring months no flower can approach their beauty—spikes frequently each bearing i to 8 flowers. Often 2 and 3 spikes are produced at one time. (See cut.) 85c. each,$3.50 doz. Postage, 5c. per bulb extra. dndRYLLIS Formosissima (Jacoboean Lily). A quaintly shaped beautiful flower of grand dark scarlet, free blooming, forces well and can be grown in water like Hyacinths; if the bulbs are kept dry during winter, they can be planted in the open ground in the spring, and will flower during the summer. 15c. each, $1.50 doz. Postage, 3c. per bulb extra. AMARYLLIS BELLADONNA MAJOB. 6 sold at dozen rates, 25 at 100 rates. Postage free except where noted.
